Know your strengths

Research shows that top performers excel by focusing on their strengths, not their weaknesses. When was the last time that you considered your strengths?
If you are like many of us, the daily grind and feelings of being overwhelmed at work can make it difficult to immediately identify your strengths. The good news is that there are many easy ways to identify your strengths and leverage them to jumpstart your success and enjoyment of your work.
Use these strategies to identify your strengths:
Ask yourself: “What three activities would I spend most of my time working on, given the choice?” Look for themes in these activities that lead to your strengths.
Notice when your co-workers come to you for help, advice or encouragement. The areas in which they are seeking guidance can be clues to your natural strengths.
Complete the online assessment available in the StrengthsFinder 2.0 book to identify your top five strengths and learn how to leverage them for maximum impact in the workplace.
